As an artists it really makes me frustrated that people in our community would attack artists over something so trivial.
Artists create, and I’m one of those people who hates censorship. If an artists wants to create something that’s their business.
There are times when art is supposed to anger and frustrate you (though often times this art is shit because the artists went for shock value instead of anything of actual substance). There are times when art is supposed to evoke emotions. And there is art that is just for fun.
There are more important things to get upset over than drawings of pop culture witches. And if you are are complaining about these you clearly aren’t educated in those other issues so allow me to help you out.
Some other issues to research and shed light on aside from the triviality that is Witchsonas:
I think to some of us, these witchsonas aren’t just trivial– I think they’re hugely useful as a tool for self-identifying, especially in a spiritual or religious context.
Still, the overall message of this post remains on point. There are far bigger problems in this community than self-expression.
