Ghost Hunters Capture Evidence of Multiple Spirits Haunting the Craigavon Mansion in Northern Ireland?
While conducting an investigation of the Craigavon Mansion in Northern Ireland, East Coast Paranormal Society captured these two images of what appears to be two entities manifesting in two separate forms. The investigation was conducted sometime before Christmas [2014]. The first image [top], which is a reflection in a mirror, shows the spirit of a bearded man standing at the top of a flight of stairs. The second image [bottom] shows a ghostly mist manifesting in front of the camera.
The mansion was once the home of Northern Ireland’s first prime minister, Sir James Craig. During World War I, the house was turned into a UVF hospital and treated wounded soldiers when they returned home from the Battle of the Somme. It later became the Somme Nursing Home. Today, the house is now closed, as it’s condition has since deteriorated. The investigation team believes the mist seen in the second image could be the spirit of Ethel, a former matron who became very attached to the hospital. As for the bearded figure in the first image, it’s unknown who he might be. The team says that it couldn’t have been one of them, since none of the members have beards.
I find these two images very interesting. Due to the extensive and rich history of this mansion, there’s definitely a good chance that these could be real spirits. The mist, admittedly, could easily have been faked. However, it doesn’t seem to be coming from any sides of the picture, which is typically a sign that the ‘mist’ is just smoke/someone’s breath. As for the bearded figure, it looks like it was actually there. It either was a real ghost, or it was someone posing as one. Overall, while these images do look pretty genuine, a part of me is still somewhat skeptical. I’m interested to hear your thoughts on these pictures. Do you think they show real spirits that haunt this old mansion? Or were they both faked?
